The victims will be honored in front of friends and family members at the annual Honor Program.

The homicide victims range in age from 10 to 82. Their deaths occurred as recently as a few months ago and as long ago as 1980.

The list includes former Quincy resident Danielle Oliverio, a 25-year-old who was found dead in Wilmington in January of 2007, and Shiki Toma, a 45-year-old Milton resident killed in 1988.

Evelyn Tobin, chairwoman of the Garden of Peace’s board of directors, said the annual ceremony gives people a chance to remember victims and raise public awareness of the homicides.

“It’s a very moving experience to be there,” Tobin said. “It’s a beautiful place where people can be at peace.”

Tobin’s daughter Kathleen Dempsey was murdered in 1992 in her Lexington home. The killer has never been found.

In remembrance of her daughter’s creativeness and compassionate spirit, Tobin helped found the Garden of Peace, which is on Somerset Street.

The new additions will bring the number of names on the memorial to 655.

Publicity Chairwoman Toni Troop said family members can submit victims’ names for future addition to the memorial.
