Biography
Judy Kensley McKie, an international arts figure, is a graduate
of the Rhode Island School of Design. She is the recipient of two
fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts, a Massachusetts
Artist Foundation fellowship, and the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation
Award. Her work is part of permanent collections at many museums
including the Boston Museum of Fine Art and the DeCordova Museum
in Lincoln.
Ms. McKie became involved in this project because her son, Jesse,
was murdered in a random act of violence. Creating a sculpture for
the Garden in memory of her son and other murder victims, is a way
for her to effect change so that this will not happen to others.
Her work us a visual statement of hope and the possibility of a
better future.
